Huawei announces EMUI 10.1 and Magic UI 3.1 update schedule for Huawei and Honor phones

    

Back in March Huawei announced EMUI 10.1 along with the launch of Huawei P40 series. As claimed by Huawei, EMUI 10.1 is built on Huawei’s distributed technology model, that offers a seamless all-scenario experience across multiple devices to its users.

Starting later this June Huawei will start the rollout of EMUI 10.1 and Magic UI 3.1. A total of 16 Huawei phones and 4 Honor phones are eligible for the update.

Heres the list of Huawei devices eligible for EMUI 10.1 update:

  • PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 20 RS

  • HUAWEI Mate 20 X (5G)
  • HUAWEI nova 5T
  • HUAWEI Mate Xs
  • HUAWEI P40 lite
  • HUAWEI nova 7i
  • HUAWEI Mate 30
  • HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro
  • HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro 5G
  • HUAWEI MatePad Pro
  • HUAWEI MediaPad M6 10.8

EMUI 10.1 brings a lot of new features and improvements like 3-D Rendered Always-on Display(AOD), new fingerprint unlock animation, new Multi-Window functionality, floating notifications, improved scrolling functionality with the new Friction Slide.

Apart from these features, Huawei has also introduced 
  • HUAWEI MeeTime which allows you to do full HD video calling, up to 1080p between Huawei devices.
  • HUAWEI Share allows you to transfers data between 1+8 devices including smartphones, PC, smart speakers, tablets, and more. 
  • Multi-Screen Collaboration allows you to mirror screen to your PC, picking up audio or video calls on PC, using PC applications to open files and hyperlinks on the smartphone, or even using the phone’s cellular internet connectivity on the PC with a single tap. 
  • Cross-device Photo Gallery,  if a user has a few images on their smartphone and a few others on their laptop, this cross-device connectivity will help them browse and search through all the files on one screen, provided they are connected to the same Wi-Fi AP network and logged into the same HUAWEI ID. Currently available for EU region only. 
  • Celia, Huawei's new Voice Assistant, Celia accesses the device hardware and uses AI capabilities to recognize objects, control media playback, send text messages, or even facilitate face-to-face translation. Currently, it supports English, French and Spanish language only.
The Global rollout will start later this June, there's no official news as to when other devices might get the update.
