Samsung Galaxy J8 finally gets Android 10 update

Samsung launched Galaxy J8 in May 2018 in an attempt to enter the Mid-Range segment. The Galaxy J8 features an Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, packs a 6-inch HD+ Infinity Display, the device came with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal Storage with Android 8 Oreo out of the box.

As per the Samsung Update Tracker, Android 10 based One UI 2.0 update is finally live for Galaxy J8 in Russia. The update comes with the firmware version J810FPUU4CTG3 and jumps the security patch level July 2020 patch. The July Patch comes as a surprise as Samsung only just started to release the latest patch on high-end/flagship phones. This means that other mid-range smartphones can get the latest patch sooner than expected. The size of the update is around 1.4GB.

The update will be available to users via Over-The-Air(OTA) update, for the users in Russia who haven't received the update and are not patient enough to wait, you can download the firmware from SAMFREW and install it manually on your Galaxy J8.

One UI 2.0 brings a lot of new features like navigation gestures, new redesigned camera UI, built-in Screen recorder, new gestures for enabling One-Hand mode, Digital Wellbeing, Dark Mode, etc. to the Samsung Galaxy J8.
To check the update manually, head over to Settings>>Software Update>>Check for updates.
The Android 10 update will be available to users via OTA. We will keep you updated as more regions get the One UI 2.0 update.
